Mario Testino ♥♥

He's like my favourite, favourite photographer. I love the use of colour and composition that he uses. I also research into him when I am doing a photoshoot. Even if my photographs dont look anything like his I always think about his pictures in mind!!!! I just enjoy looking at his photographs and wishing that I could do that & hoping that one day I can!!!!

We wanted out photographs to be different from anything that we have taken before. We wanted to take the photographs on jewellery but wanted more to the photographs then just jewellery on a model.

We decided that it would be interesting to experiment with the jewellery in water in different vases and even a fish tank. The fish was an added extra which we thought would add that extra something and also because we all had never tried it before.

We used a different colour theme in each of the photographs, but wanted a link. So we used the fish and pearl necklace as the link between each image.

We wanted the photographs to be clear, crisp and bright. This is why we used a white backdrop and really bright lights to give us the look that we wanted. We tried using a warmer light as well but that did not give us the look that we wanted for the photographs.

Experimenting with lighting

THESE ARE NOT THE FINAL IMAGES.
(& we looked after the fish very well)

Identity.

All kinds of identity interests me, like Richard Billingham's snapshot picture of his family, showing (as well as documenting his father) what sort of upbringing he had, a glimpse into his life and how he is identified within his family.
Also how a bit of makeup, change of clothing and research into a different social group can make a person fit in so well within that social group - like Nikki S Lee has done in her series of photographs.
Cindy Sherman changed her identity too, into different characters. Her images are more like a self-portrait as it is only her in the photograph at a studio, whereas Nikki S Lee shot hers on location with other people in the image.
Changing your identity would be interesting and exciting to see how differently people act around you and if they treat you differently.

i like Identity.

First Year.

These are a selection of my first year work. Here & Now, Credit Crunch Fashion Pictures and Narrative pictures - using the themes of spirtuality, fear & personal fear.

David LaChapelle

I love his use of such bold and bright colours. The scenes that he constructs are very playful and imaginative, which along with the colours make the photographs very eyecatching and likeable. Even if some of the pictures could be seen as tubo by some people.

Own work

I do take a number of different photographs. I loved taking wedding photographs for my friends Liz & Paul on their big day. My favourite picture is the picture above, where Liz is just looking at Paul when everyone else is moving around getting ready for the big family photograph. This is what I was meaning about capturing that certain moment.

Finally!!

My computer has finally let me write stuff for my blog. The settings or something!!

My interests in photography change all the time. I like to try new things! But I want all my work to base around fashion photography. I like to create a narrative within my image or I want the images to have a meaning, like my Credit Crunch fashion images.
I love colour! I like how just by the colour in your photographs that it can change how people view them, such as bright bold colours create an energy, pale colours create a certain atmosphere to the images and how black and white can change the narrative of a photograph all together, in a number of ways!
I'm most interested in Fashion and Wedding Photography. With Wedding Photography, I like how you can capture that certain moment, that maybe no one else has seen. Like a glance or a slight smile. A photograph can capture a look that is personal and special to that moment.
With Fashion Photography, you can capture all types of different objects - not just clothes - and it can be fashion photography. This does highly interest me. All the different narratives that could be created from just one constructed fashion shoot, interests me into how many images are read so differently by different people.
