Monday

The Look.

This is going to be the look of our final images.
We have changed the saturation, the contrast & the colour tint. We have also cropped this image.
Even though the colours are still bold within the frame, I feel as though the colours are quite mellow, which does not really really agree with the colours being still bold but they are not as in your face!!!!

Final Meeting.

We met today in the Media Factory to look and discuss the final 7 images that we were going to use in our series.
After a lot of messing around with macs, camera leads & card readers, we finally managed to get mine & Amy's photographs up on screen to choose which ones.
We wanted images that looked good and work together. Going through over 500 images took forever but finally we managed to get it down to the final 7.
We have chosen 5 model images and 3 still life images to be in our series, to break up the series and to add another dimension to the series.
There was a lot of conversation about which photographs we should use in the series, as some of us liked some images more than others and vice verse.
But in the end I think we are all happy with the final choice of images.
We have also decided that we are going to change elements of the images on photoshop to give a different feeling to the images then the original shot.
- such as the saturation, the contrast and the colour tint where needed.

Sunday

We have all agreed to meet tomorrow (Monday) to go through all our photographs (Amy's and mine) to choose the best selection that work well together and show our idea in the best way.
We decided on the day of the shoot that we were going to have 5 photographs with the model in them & three photographs of shots around the farm, or farm related.
This is to break up the series and to make the series more pleasing and interesting to look at.
We took photographs of differ net location with the model in in mind that we were creating a series of 7 photographs, this gives us the option of just having a 5 image series, if our photographs work better as a set of 5 not 7.

These are just a few of the photographs that I took.
I have changed the contrast and the saturation on the photographs and in some I have also changed the colour tint to make the photographs more bold and to have more intense colours.

Getting ready.

Peese Hall Farm.

These are a few photographs that I took whilst walking around the farm thinking of different locations in the farm that we could take images at.

Shoot Day.

Friday 26th March.
Woke up and the weather was fine, luckily.
Our orginal model pulled out at the last minute, having recieved a text from Charlotte asking if me or Amy knew anyone, no! Not at this short notice!!
I did start to wonder if the photoshoot was going to happen!
Holly found another girl to be our model, her friend, Grace, so the photoshoot was back on!
We arrived at the farm about 11 and started to take images around half 11.
The weather was in two minds whether to rain really hard or not, but we managed to shoot the photographs around the weather! Even deciding to include a brolly as an extra prop!
We decided that we didn't want to take a lighting kit with us to a farm as it would have got dirty (& wet) so we just took our cameras, a flashgun and a reflector.

The outfits the Holly & Charlotte had styled looked really good, and the makeup and accessories that the model wore were just as good!
Also trying to make the model look like she could belong on the farm but also having the contrast between the clean and dirty - inspired by our found object, the Apple Blossom Soap & Bath Cubes, wasn't really as tricky as we thought!

There were a few times that it was hard to capture the right images, due to the rain, wind and also the dull sky. Which looked horrible and plain on the photographs when we were taking them in the field! But all in all every different location we managed to capture a good selection of different angle images, also from different heights and also close up images of the model and pictures with all the props and details in the frame. At first there was conversation about whethere the photographs should be taken in landscape or portrait. Portrait was the winner!! As most fashion photographs are taken in portrait and we decided that it would look better in exhibition.

Friday

A few farm related fashion photographs.

To gather more inspiration before taking the final images for the Objet Trouve brief, I found these images which have given me more inspiration for the images that I am going to take. By the different compositions, the framing, the lighting & the colours that are in the images.

I have looked at David LaChapelle a lot, this is because I really like and enjoy his work. His photographs are so constructed and have a fun element about them which makes it eye-catching. Also the colours that he has in his images are bold and bright which again adds another element to his work.
As we are taking out photographs on a farm the images are going to be constructed in some way, which props and maybe some animals to make them effective. Obviously, the photographs are not going to be as constructed asLaChapelle's work, but I found it beneficial to look at his work to get some inspiration for the farm shoot.

Ferenc Ecseki

I really like the colours in these two photographs by Ferenc Ecseki.
They are really bright and eye-catching, which I think makes the images more appealing to a viewer.
I really like the composition of the image with the model and the horse, even though the model is smaller and lower than the horse, both subjects are filling the frame, this is done by the angle the photograph was taken in. I find this really interesting.
Again, the way the model fills the frame in the first photograph really interests me - how parts of her body you cannot see, like she is too big for the frame.

Sorted.

As we have the location & the clothes sorted for our fashion shoot, more ideas for how I want the final images are being created and the more confident about doing the photographs I have become!
[I'm actually looking forward to it, more than I am dreading not being able to capture the photographs]
The farm is even better than I thought and there are a lot of different places around the farm where we can capture a range of different farm related images!
The clothes that Holly & Charlotte have styled are interesting and I think that with the right accessories they really can create 'glamorous farmers wife' look!
The models poses will have to be right for the images to work, but also the way in which Amy and myself take the images will make the whole preparation, the meetings, the facebook chats, the texts & the seminars come together.
Its really exciting & I really hope that the images that are the final outcome are as good & eye-catching as the ones in my head!

Peese Hall Farm.

These are a couple of pictures from the farm that we are going to use as the location in our fashion photoshoot.

Our Clothes.

These are some of the clothes that Holly & Charlotte have chosen for our farm shoot!
There is also - a knitty cardigan & a light pastel coloured dress.

Thursday

Hair.

Hair ideas.

By having quite big and loose curls in the hair also creates a glamorous look and feel.
I also feel as though having wuite big hair creates some sort of dimention to a photograph and another interest which is a good thing to have.

Makeup.

Makeup ideas.

I think by having quite bold, yet glamorous makeup would look much better on the images.
By having the makeup quite glamourous will contrast against the farm yard location and give the effect that we want in the images.

Wednesday

Preese Hall Farm

Holly is friends with a farmer who has a farm.
And they have kindly let us use there farm for our photo shoot :)

Hopefully it wont be raining... but knowing Preston / Kirkham it will be, as we plan to shoot on Friday 26th March.

*fingers crossed*

:)
All Things Relating to Farms!!
Farmers Wives.
They don't wear the clothes that we want either for this photo shoot.
Not glamorous at all.

Farmers don't wear high fashion, or even fashionable clothes because of the dirt and smell that farms have!
Also for comfort reasons as well.
The clothes they wear you relate to a farm yard & there isn't any disagreement with what they are wearing, so there is no contrast against the location.
The look we want is a contrast look against the farm yard location, so we couldn't dress our model in 'farmers clothes' as there would be no contrast.
